Although Wester Ross is a sparsely populated, rural place, there are lots of hotels that you can choose from. At one end of the scale you will find budget accommodation with a clean and simple bedroom with modest facilities, while at the other end you can stay in luxury in fantastic locations, in a high-end hotel with spa facilities, top restaurants and so on. The choice is yours.

Wester Ross has a long history of hospitality, and many visitors started to come in Victorian times when the Highlands because very popular because of Queen Victoria’s love of the area. Many hotels were built during this era, and also a large number of private hunting lodges which have since been converted to hotels.

At the simpler level, small family run hotels can be more like guesthouses with maybe just 5 or 6 rooms.

In a hotel you can normally expect more facilities than you would find at a B&B; generally there will be a bar and restaurant, the hotel will often have wi-fi and there may be the possibility of checking in early or late.
