Achiltibuie & Coigach

North of Ullapool the scenery becomes almost lunar as the distinct peaks of Coigach and Inverpolly loom into view. Coigach is the southern most region of the North West Highlands Geopark, a UNESCO site awarded the status for its stunning landscapes, internationally significant geology and unique cultural heritage. There is a small visitor centre at Knockan Crag.
Take the side road to Achiltibuie for a magical trip through spectacular mountain scenery past the gorgeous peak of Stac Pollaidh, and down to the coast for stunning views of the Summer Isles. You can take a boat trip and land on the island of Tanera Mor in the summer months. Around the little village of Achiltibuie there are several noted eateries. Rock-climbers will love the crags around the coastline at Reiff.
